NOMORESILENCE Books

First Book: NoMoreSilence - Nicknaming Thieves from a Noble Country through Student Essays

The first book is part of the global NoMoreSilence project, aimed at recovering stolen funds and inspiring other "small" ones to stand up against the "big" ones, all with the support of the public. Within the project, a student essay competition (Decoding the Dilemma) is being conducted. The book will feature the 50 best student essays, each accompanied by an illustration on the theme of a modern encounter between David and Goliath, interpreted through a contemporary humanistic perspective. The essay results will be used in public debates as part of the NoMoreSilence project. Work on the first book of the NOMORESILENCE project is underway.

Second Book: NoMoreSilence - What Would Goethe Say?

The second book will include the 50 best student essays, also accompanied by selected illustrations (from 50 available) on the theme of a modern encounter between David and Goliath. This book will also be part of the public debate foreseen by the NoMoreSilence project.

Artistic-Intellectual Social Experiment

Both books are conceptualized as artistic-intellectual social experiments, where the freedom of expression of essay authors aims to initiate a new social rhetoric, bringing the essay format back to the center of the most important current social events. Each essay author’s freedom to choose an accompanying illustration for their essay will reveal an invisible, inspiring link between the chosen illustration and the arguments used in the essay.

On this basis, the book will, on one hand, be a collection of intellectual expressions in essays, filtered through strong competitive selection, and on the other, artistic visual interpretations of the contemporary encounter between David and Goliath. Despite the existence of proposition elements for illustrations, significant differences between the illustrations will emerge, making the authors' affinities for specific illustrations a selection criterion based on the overall impression the illustration leaves concerning the author’s essay profile and content.

Selection of Cover Illustrations

The final cover illustrations for both books will be those selected by the largest number of essay authors. As essay authors choose the most inspiring accompanying illustration for their essay from the 50 offered, without knowing the choices of other essay authors, the creator of the NoMoreSilence project acknowledges the possibility that all essay authors may choose the same illustration for their essay. Remaining illustrations will be included at the end of the book. Essay authors' success will be appropriately based on their choice of a specific accompanying illustration and their mandatory 100-character explanation for that choice.

Collection of Artistic and Intellectual Works

In this context, both books can be considered collections of individual works by painters and essayists, as well as collections of their composites (essay + illustration pairs). The expected "repetitiveness" of essays on the same topic and of accompanying illustrations, created with many of the same proposition elements, also represents a certain artistic intention to vary individual literary and visual elements of the book and their mutual composites. In this sense, the mentioned composites can be considered separate works of art, and the entire book, composed of these composites, along with the commission and intention of the editor and creator of the NoMoreSilence project—rooted in the foundations of Western morality and Western society—can also be considered a separate work of art.

Awards for Essay and Illustration Authors

Authors of the best essays will receive generous financial awards, as described in the rules for the Decoding the Dilemma competition. Authors of the best essays in the second major competition, WWGS?, will receive a prize of $1,000,000. Authors of illustrations for both books will receive initial compensation for participation in the competition, awards for the most chosen illustrations, and a percentage from the auction sales of the original illustrations.

"Division of Spoils"

Monetary awards stem from the very nature of the NoMoreSilence project, whose ultimate success lies in recovering stolen funds. In this context, the distribution of awards takes on the characteristics of a legitimate "division of spoils" after victory, emphasizing the ultimate utility of essays and illustrations. The creator of the NoMoreSilence project believes this utility will inspire the creation of exceptionally vivid and authentic intellectual and artistic works.

A Unique Endeavor

In a figurative sense, the creator of the NoMoreSilence project, together with artists and essay authors, leads a "campaign" to recover stolen funds. This campaign is based exclusively on moral and customary rules, using words, intellect, art, and humanistic solidarity as its only "weapons." Along with material compensation ("spoils"), participants will gain honor, pride, and lasting memory of participating in such a "battle," accompanied by their artistic legacy through essays and illustrations.
